Where do the ski courses take place?
All courses take place in Silvapark Meeting place - Information Center of the ski school Wirl below the road called Alpkogelbahn.
Are there also ski courses before opening of season (3.12.11)?
Yes, but only private courses. For example, in Ischgl or some other ski area.
Can private courses take place somewhere else?
Yes, wherever desired by the guests, but only in case of full day booking.
Are the ski courses to be booked in advance?
Opening time:
Office Dorfplatz 08:45 - 11:45 and 15:00 - 18:00 o’clock, Information Center in Wirl 08:45 - 16:00
In case of private courses (especially in high season), it is of advantage to inform us of your wishes as soon as possible. Of course, you can also book your courses in advance in our online shop
Can I start with the ski course for children every day?
Anfängerkurse starten Sonntag und Montag und eventuell am Mittwoch ab 4 Teilnehmer.
Courses for beginners start on Sunday and Monday, advanced students can start on any day. (On Saturday, only private lessons take place)
Does my child need a helmet?
The ski school recommends all children to wear a helmet. Safety first!!
What should I do if my child has no wish to ski anymore?
We recommend an introductory card for children who have not become certain yet whether they enjoy our ski course or not.
After the first day has passed, it's usually not a problem anymore.
But if your child has no wish once, there is a possibility that your kids will be treated in the kindergarten for the children of guests.
Can children come to the ski course a little bit later?
This is possible exceptionally for babies As for others, it is important always to be bang on time at the place of meeting. Ski instructors should
wait no longer than max. 5 minutes to start. Please pick up your children at 15:45 o’clock.
What is a children's ski race?
The children's ski race takes place every Friday from 10:00 o’clock. Anyone who has booked a course on Friday will participate in the race automatically.
The award ceremony takes place from 15:00 o’clock.
A list containing information about race starting time of the group as well as concerning the time of the award ceremony can be found in the Information Center of the ski school on Thursday.
Can I join the ski race on Friday even if I am not / have never been in the ski school?
Yes, you are to be registered in the office of the ski school till 10:00 and to pay entry fee.
Can we expect small group teaching at seasonal peaks such as Christmas / New Year and Easter?
We strive to keep groups small. Nevertheless, 10 children per group are to be expected. 1 - 2 children more may be involved into the group at the beginning of the week. Most of the groups are smaller in the afternoon or on Wednesday. In case of half-day courses, we recommend you to attend the course in the afternoon.
I do not live in Galtuer. How can I get to the ski school to the ski course?
If you live in Ischgl or Mathon, you can take a ski bus to Galtuer / Wirl. It stops directly
in front of our ski school.
At which age can children be involved?
2 year old kids can visit the kindergarten for children of guests. Next to the info center, meeting place and training area of the ski school at the base station Birkhanbahn in Wirl.
3 year old kids may attend our baby ski course. (2 hours per day)
Can I be present during the children's ski course?
Parents can be present during ski lessons, but lessons may not be disturbed. In most cases it's better for children if their parents are not directly in the training area.
Take classes place on Saturday as well?
Only private classes are available on Saturday, but we do not offer Saturday group lessons.
Are lift tickets included in ski school prices?
The lift passport is not included. Beginners need no lift passport during the first few days. Advanced students need it during the first day. Children under 8 get a free ski passport at the mountain passes of Galtuer (identification required).
Where can I buy my lift passport?
Lift passports may be bought at the mountain association of Galtuer at Dorfplatz as well as at the lower base station Birkhanbahn in Wirl.
Are there any reductions for longer bookings?
Yes. Details for adults and for children.
Are private course bookings binding?
If a booking is canceled till17:00 o’clock, we charge 20% cancellation fee.
If the reservation is canceled after this date, we charge 50% cancellation fee.
This also applies for bookings made with vouchers!
Is there also a supervision for the whole day?
For children, who are attending a whole day course and book a lunch time supervision,
the course lasts from 09:45 until 15:45.
The lunch time supervision can also be booked for sngle days. Children, who are attending half-day courses can also book the lunch time supervision, can visit the guestkindergarten in the afternoon.
That should be discussed with the kindergaten first.
