Much more than just skiing:
Lots of fun at the in the SNOWY PLAYGROUND!
Children aged 3 and over are given a chance to have fun in the snow as they take their first steps on skis. Our trained children’s ski instructors have devised a colourful pre-school programme for these future skiing heroes. The focus of the activities with and without skis is on exercising in the fresh air and having fun in the group. So those first successes are all child’s play and stress-free.
We apply learning methods certified by the ‘Tiroler Skilehrerverband’ ski association and focus on the following goals to improve skiing ability:
- We recommend that children start to ski from the age of 3, if they want to. We give children their first taste of skis and snow, improve their training and practise turning the feet. We specifically work on the snow plough turn and gain excellent basic knowledge for the next winter.
- In the case of 4 year olds, we need three or four days to teach the snow plough turn and how to turn. The focus is on enjoying skiing. We first practise their turns on gently inclined connecting trails and practice pistes and generally are able to tackle the gentle blue pistes by the end of the week.
- By the age of 5-6, children have developed the optimal coordination and fitness learning abilities and so almost all children in this age group are able to learn to ski successfully. Most have mastered the snow plough turn after 1 to 2 days and at the end of the week, can tackle descents with safe turns and a controlled tempo.
Siggi’s Snow Heroes’ Week – an overview
Siggi rushes down the pistes in Galtür each day in search of new adventures in the snow. Siggi is still searching for lots more snow heroes to master the many areas of the SILVAPARK Galtür. So swing by Siggi’s kids’ ski school in Galtür and experience an adventure-packed week of skiing with Siggi.
Day 1: First heroes’ meeting
We need a fantastic ski instructor from the Silvretta Galtür Ski School to ensure optimal preparation for the many new adventures in the snow. So first we get to know our ski instructor and the other snow heroes. Then our ski instructor shows us what equipment we need for our adventure. After that, we go to the magic carpet together and make our first mark in the snow ;-) The Bambiniland area is for mini ski heroes only and so parents are required to watch from the parents’ stand.
Day 2: Siggi travels to the Wild West with us
Today we take an exciting trip to the Wild West. We learn how to stop to make sure we are safe on our skis. Then we take a well-deserved break. After that, there is a fantastic cowboys and Indians party and we enjoy face-painting, dressing up and dancing to some fantastic music.
Day 3: Photo shoot for scamps
Today we learn how to turn to make sure we can avoid any obstacles. We take a photo at the spectacular photo point in the SILVAPARK as a memento of our Snow Heroes’ Week.
Day 4: Searching for Siggi’s snack
Once you are steady on your skis, we head to the big tow lift and learn slalom skiing! But while we are busy training, someone has hidden the snack of our little mascot Siggi. Your snow hero powers are needed! Find the missing snack and you will win a little thank you surprise from Siggi!
Day 5: Competing with Siggi
Sadly the Snow Heroes’ Week is now over. But before you head home, you can show everyone just how many snow hero powers you have! Once you have mastered the slalom, you will become one of ‘Siggi’s snow heroes’ and will receive a certificate to mark your fantastic week. Now you are ready to explore the exciting adventures on offer in the SILVAPARK Galtür!
