Snow V - the snow brake assistance
Thanks to the "Snow V", the children understand more easily and quickly which movement they need for the snow brake.

Awarded "Tyrolean traditional business"
We are particularly proud of the award "Tyrolean traditional business", which we were able to receive from the state of Tirol in 2017 on the occasion of our 90th anniversary!
It is a great honor for us and at the same time an incentive to recognize the current trends in order to offer the next generations courses in all areas of snow sports at the highest possible level.
We are working enthusiastically so that the "joy of winter sports" - which started 90 years ago - will remain in Galtür for a long time.
- History and stories
90 years of the Silvretta Galtür Ski School
Ski lessons were first organised in Galtür 90 years ago in 1927 by Eduard Walter. This gave rise to the Silvretta Galtür Ski School where generations of guests have now learnt to ski and have been coached in other kinds of snow sports too.
Tourism in Galtür began around the turn of the 20th century when the first Alpinists found their way into the inner Paznauntal valley. During the first decade of the 20th century, the first skiers came to Galtür. They marked the start of a development which is explained in this exhibition. Today tourism has slowly become one of the most important economic pillars for Galtür and its inhabitants.
The 90 year anniversary is a fitting opportunity for the Silvretta Galtür Ski School and Alpinarium Galtür to document the development of winter sport in an exhibition. This exhibition tells the story of the Ski School and the stories of its ski instructors and guests who have learnt to ski here. The ‘protagonists’ form the focal point of the story and are present throughout.
The title of the exhibition reflects the organisation of the exhibition which focuses on key milestones of the ski school’s 90 year history and tells the lively stories of the people who have taught and learnt at the ski school.
“I was particularly concerned with celebrating the 90th anniversary of our ski school appropriately. And so the idea emerged of creating an exhibition together with the Alpinarium and local community. 90 years of the ski school is really something special for a place like Galtür,” says manager of the ski school, Christian Zangerle. The exhibition will open on 8 December and can be visited during the winter season at the Alpinarium.
